In a new study, researchers at the Moores Cancer Center and Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, UC San Diego used a complex computer prediction model to determine that intake of vitamin D3 and calcium would prevent 58000 new cases of breast cancer and 49000 new cases of colorectal cancer annually in the US and Canada. The researchers model also predicted that 75% of deaths from these cancers could be prevented with adequate intake of vitamin D3 and calcium. Dr. Cedric Garland, UCSD School of Medicine, lead researcher on the study discusses the implications of this finding and the proposed actions. most people are deficient probably b/c they were conditioned to believe the sun is dangerous which is nonsense & only stupid people would believe that. sunscreen is fucking sales pitch nothing more

And you wonder why the criminals in the FDA and their stooges in the congress are always trying to come up with legislation to ban vitamins.

Doctors are the #1 cause of death in America.
July 24th, 2010 at 5:45 pm
To overdose on vitamin D3 you would have have to take 10,000,000 IUs! Yep, ten million.
July 24th, 2010 at 6:01 pm
they don’t know yet according to this researcher
July 24th, 2010 at 6:23 pm
If they put pharmaceuticals under the same scrutiny as hypervitaminosis no one would ever be able to take a drug! If you add up all the deaths from prescribed drugs, surgery, malpractice, iatogenetic, etc, it adds up to be the #1 cause of death in america!!!! According to JAMA

What are the hyper levels of Vitamins A and D as measured in nanograms per milliliter?
Thanks.
July 24th, 2010 at 6:59 pm
Yes but hypervitaminosis D is a very rare phenomenon among the developed world citizens. That’s why supplementation with D is necessary and not with A.
July 24th, 2010 at 7:50 pm
Hypervitaminosis A and D can in fact make you very sick, with the former being occasionally fatal.

Additional post (referring to my previous comment):
You may want to focus on the risks caused by DEFICIENCY, not excess.
Vit D, or Vit A, or Vid E won’t kill you, or harm you severly, for that matter.
Trust the real, honest scientists. Those who are not being payed by the Big Pharma.

Interesting. Low Vitamin D levels are found in M.S. patients too and it is theorized (not proven) that low levels of Vitamin D might be one of the triggers to start M.S. I would suggest getting your levels checked before starting any vitamins. High levels of vitamin D can also cause problems.

there is an antibody pill to ALL cancers.
July 24th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
That is where Codex Alimentarius comes in to play.

The problem is, we no longer live in a natural world, so natural selection isn’t what it used to be. Maybe the natural levels of vitamin D would have sufficed to protect us if it weren’t for all the toxins making us sick nowadays.
July 24th, 2010 at 11:07 pm
Vitamin can not be patented by drug companies because it’s a naturally occurring hormone, not a true vitamin.
I would usually agree with your healthy skepticism. Vitamin D is cheap & not patentable. Drug companies hate that!

After the ‘sane humans laugh’, I can then
turn to you!
Paddy, you sound like your in your cups!
Always remember, it is no crime to be
stupid, but there are no reasons why you
must ‘advertise’ it to the world.
Vitamin D cost $10 for about a 2 month
supply. Drugs used in chemo theraphy
$7000-1000.
I finally realize why my great grandfather
left Ireland and would not go back. If the
Irish in Ireland are a dumb as you,
then I don’t think I’d want to visit either.

You said “drug companies don’t sell vitamins”. lie back and relax while sane humans laugh.

“Mad dogs and ….
The medical community now recommends levels … not reached by many tanned, outdoorsy people.
To stay above the recommended minimum of 75-150 nmol/L, we must take supplements. Yet even dietary supplementation seems to be countered within the body.
It looks like natural selection has aimed for an optimal vitamin D level substantially lower than the recommended minimum of 75-150 nmol/L. This in turn implies some kind of disadvantage above the optimal level.” Early death?
July 25th, 2010 at 1:50 am
actually, 40-6% of Americans are Vitamin D deficient!
July 25th, 2010 at 2:45 am
Drug companies don’t sell vitamins,
not enough money to be made. Potentially
most people shouldn’t lack vitamin D,
but they do. I don’t drink milk, I don’t go
out in the sun.
Also, the 400 mg daily requirement is
too low.
Vitamin D supplements are avialable
2 months supply for less than $10
hardly anyone is getting rich.
If you don’t want to take vitamins, hey, it’s
a free country, but your comment is wrong
and not well thought out.
July 25th, 2010 at 3:30 am
This looks like a great way to make money off human suffering, by selling a vitamin most people don’t lack. I wonder what drug company sponsored this video…

I enjoy my approach towards getting quality information. If I had been polite I would have got nothing, but because your dislike of my attitude I get 3 interesting facts and 3 further things to read, thank you very much, sir.
